Ora Burnett Jazz Award

Open to competitors 15 and under 21 years as at 1 Sept 2025.

The winner of this Award will not be eligible to compete in future Ora Burnett Jazz Awards. A minimum of 10 entries is required to hold the Award.

Competitors must dance in their age group Jazz class to be eligible for the Ora Burnett Jazz Award. Competitors will be required to perform three dances as follows;

1. Impromptu Jazz - No set costume requirement. Music set by judge.

2. Contemporary - Dance not to be repeated in the age group contemporary.

3. Jazz Dance - Not to be repeated in age group Jazz.

The winner will be invited to dance in the ACDS Final GAla on Saturday 4th October 2025. We would love to have you show your talent and we very much hope you are able to perform. A photo will be taken for ACDS social media. 1st, 2nd and 3rd placegetters are required to submit a letter or email of acknowledgement to the Burnett Trust regarding their future plans. This letter is to be emailed to aucklandcales@gmail.com no later than two weeks after the finals.
